UNESCO and AU’s Media and Information Literacy Course

The course is the result of a partnership between UNESCO and Canada’s Athabasca University, and was designed to provide young people with tools that will, among other things, “enhance access to information and knowledge, freedom of expression, and gender equality.” Available in English only, this is an open-access course to be taken at one’s own pace, with advancement through the ten available units always dependent on attaining a certain level of knowledge in the previous level. The course seeks to enable “people to share knowledge and experience, learn from one another and find, evaluate, and produce information and media content on their own.”
