Media@ction

The Media@ction competition is the successor of “7 Days, 7 Tips on the Media” and is promoted by the School Libraries Network (RBE) and by the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (SGPCM), in partnership with the UNESCO National Commission (CNU), the Directorate-General of Education (DGE), the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the PT Foundation (FPT), and the National Reading Plan 2027 (PNL2027).

The first edition of the Media@ction competition is designed to get students of the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education to think about the theme “There’s life beyond television, video games and the Internet” while 3rd Cycle and Secondary School students are invited to think about “How to deal with fake news”. To participate, students will have to submit original narrative works, in one of the following media: video, podcast or advertising spot, with a maximum duration of three minutes.

Just like the competition “7 Days, 7 Tips about the Media”, this new initiative aims to promote the critical, responsible and creative use of the media, as well as the exercise of freedom of expression, among students from the 1st Cycle up to Secondary School.

The full regulations can be found on the RBE page and the deadline for submissions is March 23, 2018.
