THE UNITED NATIONS COMMITTEE ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD ADOPTS “GENERAL COMMENT NO.25 ON CHILDREN’S RIGHTS IN RELATION TO THE DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT”

General Comment 25 is a document with legislative guidelines that ensures the implementation by States of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in particular in relation to digital environments. The application of these guidelines makes it possible to assume that human rights, including those of children, apply both offline and online.

Broadly speaking, the document addresses issues pertaining to the regulation of children’s rights in the digital environment, their freedoms, their right to privacy, to non-discrimination and education, among others.
