THE PORTUGUESE EDUCATION COUNCIL ISSUES RECOMMENDATION NO.2/21 ON “ THE VOICE OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN SCHOOL EDUCATION”

The Portuguese education council issues recommendation no.2/21 on “the voice of children and young people in school education”: “This recommendation seeks to address the current situation involving children’s and young people’s voices and participation in schools and suggest guidelines that attach greater importance to dialogue in curricular learning and in students’ democratic socialisation, ensuring they are effectively involved in their education process. It is intended that this recommendation be generalised to Pre-School Education, Primary and Secondary Education and Vocational Education. By ‘voice of children and young people in School Education’ we mean the possibility and the right that children and young people have to express their ideas and opinions throughout the educational process, as well as to see their participation respected and considered in all the choices that concern them”.
